Karachi, Pakistan – April 15, 2025 The Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) proudly hosted the IDRP Pakistan Orientation Session, a flagship event under the International Dental Research Program (IDRP) aimed at empowering the next generation of dental researchers in the country. The session marked a significant milestone in advancing dental research and academic excellence in Pakistan.
The event was graced by esteemed members of the AIDM leadership, including Prof Dr. Hasnain Sakrani, Principal of AIDM, Prof.Dr. Naseer Ahmed, Head of Research, Prof Dr. Sheema Farhan, Vice Principal, and Prof. Dr. Ambreen Fazal, Dean of the institute. Their presence underscored the importance AIDM places on fostering a robust research
culture and international collaboration.
The session was spearheaded by Shamim Ashraf, who serves as the Director of IDRP Pakistan. A dynamic leader and passionate researcher, Shamim Ashraf is at the forefront of the initiative, working tirelessly to bridge the gap between clinical practice and research, while promoting opportunities for Pakistani dental students to engage in international research collaborations.
The orientation served as a platform to not only onboard new participants but also inspire a sense of responsibility toward research-driven change in oral health care. With a strong backing from the AIDM administration and an enthusiastic response from attendees, the session laid a solid foundation for upcoming IDRP projects, workshops, and international collaborations.
