It is indeed an honour and privilege for me to be the Patron-in-Chief of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM). This Institute, over a period of two decades has attained the status of excellence both in the fields of specialized dental technology of health sciences and allied advanced techniques of professional learning.

The quality of education being imparted at the Institute and scientific pursuits being afforded to the students in a conducive learning environment are indeed commendable. I would like to compliment the faculty and administration for their dedication and commitment in securing the cherished goals of pre-eminence and excellence. I urge the students to make best use of the available facilities and work conscientiously to make a name for themselves and their alma-mater.

I am delighted to welcome you to the Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM).

The core aspiration for the AIDM is rooted in my quest as a dental practitioner to strike a balance between technical excellence in dental education and providing – that indefinable something more that people expect in a doctor, such as being ethical, sympathetic, and caring in their relationships, as well as comfortable with themselves and others in their environment.

Founded with this vision nearly 20 years ago, the AIDM has enthusiastically invested in state-of-the-art facilities, and has gathered passionate, supportive staff and knowledgeable educators with national and international standing to inspire and prepare dental students for a rapidly evolving society.

Mindful of the importance of exposure for our faculty and students alike, we have since our inception in 2001 strived to maintain and benefit from our foreign collaboration with Karolinska Institute, Sweden. In 2016 we signed an MOU with Temple University, Philadelphia, USA for Teachers Students Exchange Program. Our regular Continuing Dental Education programs are a proof that we keep our faculty and students abreast with new innovations.

Over the years AIDM has celebrated many achievements as our students have received highest scores in University exams multiple times. I will give the credit to our faculty who believes in our vision of quality dental education delivered through a technology based curriculum.

We look forward to continuing our growth from a dental college to a state of art tertiary hospital equipped to provide medical care to the underprivileged masses at affordable cost. ‘Altamash General Hospital ‘ is another milestone of our journey.

It is a privilege to be associated with Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine. Over the years AIDM has progressed from an under grad to post graduation institute. Our devoted faculty is working diligently to train our under graduate and post graduate students. The students are provided with excellent learning environment and are trained in well equipped pre clinical labs to make them confident and competent to treat patients in clinics. Faculty development programs are regularly held to keep them abreast with advancement in teaching methodologies. Continuing dental education lecture and workshops are regularly conducted and foreign speakers frequently visit AIDM and update about advancements in dentistry. Our aim is to produce graduates who can excel both at national and international level.

The commitment of our faculty and the staff, and above all adherences to standards of academic excellence, have contributed immensely to the faculty’s enviable reputation.

The AIDM faculty has produced several dental graduates and is considered one of the best when it comes to professional education within the country. Strong focus is laid on academic excellence by ensuring outcome-based education. Students are not only given a cognitive understanding of the subject area they learn, there is specific focus on the development of their dental skills through pre-clinical as well as clinical training.
