Karachi, August 1, 2025 – The Research Development and Review Cell at Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) successfully concluded a highly impactful workshop titled “Common Mistakes in Manuscript Writing – How to Write a Scholarly Article”. The session drew the participation of 36 eager learners, including dental students, young researchers, and faculty members committed to advancing their academic writing skills.

The workshop was led by none other than Prof. Dr. Fahim Vohra, an internationally recognized researcher and clinician, currently serving as Director, Predoc Pros Clinics and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota’s School of Dentistry. With over 400 scientific publications to his credit, Dr. Vohra brought a wealth of knowledge, experience, and insight into the intricacies of academic publishing.

Over the course of the day, the workshop covered every critical aspect of writing a scholarly manuscript—from formatting titles and abstracts to crafting structured methodologies and discussions. Participants engaged in hands-on activities, reviewed examples, and took part in a live Q&A session where they gained a deeper understanding of how to respond to reviewer comments and navigate the publication process successfully.

One of the highlights of the workshop was Dr. Vohra’s breakdown of what journal editors and reviewers truly look for in a submission, offering rare insider guidance for emerging researchers in the dental field.

Dr. Resham Nadeem and Shamim Ashraf, who coordinated the event, noted the overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees. All participants received certificates of participation, and many expressed interest in follow-up workshops focusing on literature review and systematic writing.
