Dr Ambreen Javaid, post graduate resident of AIDM welcomed all the participants. Program started with reciation of Holy Quran.

Prof Dr. Ambreen Afzal, Dean AIDM and Councillor, College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan applauded the organizers for a successful session and appreciated the efforts of Orthodontists community for conducting continuous dental education events.

President PAO Prof Dr Syed Shah Faisal in his address thanked seniors, colleagues and post graduate residents for their participation and uplifting profession of Orthodontics. He announced that PAO inshallah will conduct such events on regular basis and PAO will organise National/International conference in month of Novemeber 2021.

Residents from Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine and Karach Medical and Dental College presented their cases which included variety of complexities such as cleft lip and palate, impactions, mid face deficiency and facial asymmetry. The post grad residents in attendance actively participated in the discussion leading to a productive session.

Prof Dr Hasnain Sakrani, Principal Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine and Vice President PAO also host of the event thanked his peers for their support and expressed his intent to organized future such sessions. He also commebed the efforts of General Secretary, Prof Dr Rozina Nazir and Finance Secretary, Dr Erum Behroz Khan and stressed that event is successful because of team effort. He also thanked, Martin Dow in organisation of this event.

PAO also invited the president of Pakistan Dental Association, Dr. Mahmood Shah in this continuous education program, he also stressed upon continuous organisation of such academic events and announced that PDA will be hosting the Asia Pacific Dental Conference in March 2022 after 17 years.

The seniors memebers of PAO pledged their support and assistance in making APDC a successful endeavor.

Studying at AIDM has been the most rewarding experience of my life. It has helped me direct me on the path. I want to take in medicine field for the rest of my career.The teacher at AIDM are very attentive and engaging. They all are very skilled and professional. I really believe they are the best teacher I’ve had.

AIDM has offered me a great deal of assistance and guidance toward accomplishment my future goals. This institute has offered me a diverse range of friends with whom to socialise and excellent opportunities to engage in wide variety of activities.

Overall these four years has given me an everlasting memories and some precious Friends like family who have given me motivation and confidence at every step of my studying career.

Convocation Ceremony 2019

Convocation Ceremony for Batch 2017 and Batch 2018 of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) Karachi was held on 15 Apr 19. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi NI(M), graced the occasion as Chief Guest and awarded degrees to 144 graduating doctors and medals to the position holders.

Convocation Ceremony for Batch 2017 and Batch 2018 of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) Karachi was held on 15 Apr 19. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi NI(M), graced the occasion as Chief Guest and awarded degrees to 144 graduating doctors and medals to the position holders.

While addressing the audience, Chief of the Naval Staff congratulated the students and their parents on their splendid success and said that the occasion of convocation is very important for graduates as it symbolizes successful completion of their education and their transition into a career aimed at serving humanity. He advised the graduates to be men and women of sterling character, have a positive attitude towards life and sacrifice personal gains for the national interests.

The Chief Guest appreciated the achievements of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine for becoming Pakistan’s premier dental institute in the private sector. He acknowledged that this achievement has been attained through consistent hard work and sustained efforts of the faculty, the cooperation of students & guidance of their parents and patronage of the University of Karachi.

He expressed satisfaction that AIDM is engaged in the activities of community dentistry and charity by working in the localities of less privileged segment of the society and promoting awareness about oral dental hygiene in the public sector schools. The Chief Guest also lauded the establishment of Altamash General Hospital, a state-of-the-art medical facility.

Top students of two batches i.e Dr Mahrukh Khalid and Dr Iqra Gulzar were honoured with the Best Graduates’ certificates. Whereas, Dr Sabeen Masood received a special award for her contribution to research during her undergraduate studies. Earlier in his welcome address, Prof Dr. Mohammad Hasnain Sakrani, Principal of AIDM congratulated graduates on achieving this milestone. The Principal informed that AIDM is successfully running postgraduate programs of FCPS under College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) and all the training programs are recognized by Pakistan Medical Comission (PMC). Besides, AIDM has an international collaboration program with Karonlinska Institute in Sweden for Ph.D programs.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor University of Karachi and senior officials of the education sector.
