Membership in Prosthodontics examination pathway
The Postgraduate Unit at Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine recently hosted a highly informative session on the Membership in Prosthodontics examination pathway (MProsthodontics) of the Royal College of Surgeons.
The event received praise from attendees across Pakistan for its insightful content and valuable discussions, especially for its clarity and in-depth information.
The session, led by Dr. Ibrahim Dars, FCPS trainee in the Department of Prosthodontics, provided comprehensive guidance on navigating the MProsthodontics examination pathway.
This event was organized with the support and encouragement of AIDM Principal Prof. Dr. Hasnain Sakrani, Vice Principal Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmed, and Administrator Dr. Resham Nadeem.
The AIDM session significantly contributed to the professional development of dental practitioners nationwide.
Basic Life Support Workshop
A one-day Basic Life Support (BLS) workshop was held at Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM), equipping 1st to 4th-year BDS students with essential life-saving skills.
The event attracted a total of 104 participants, including house surgeons and AIDM faculty members.
Dr. Resham Nadeem and a dedicated team of volunteers coordinated the workshop which offered hands-on sessions covering crucial BLS techniques.
During the workshop, the participants engaged in comprehensive training that included CPR maneuvers and emergency response protocols, designed to instill confidence in managing critical situations.
The success of the workshop was attributed to the support and guidance from prominent figures in the field. Prof. Dr. Hasnain Sakrani, Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Altamash, and Dr. Shaheena Altamash also contributed to the event’s smooth execution, showing their commitment to fostering a culture of preparedness and excellence within the dental community.
Emphasizing practical skills and collaborative learning, the BLS workshop not only equipped participants with invaluable knowledge but also showed the institute’s dedication to holistic education and professional development.
The workshop participants will be able to save lives using the skills they learned.
Heatwave Relief Camp
The Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine recently organized a Heatwave Relief Camp to address the pressing needs of the community during an intense heatwave. This initiative aimed to provide immediate relief and support to those most affected by the soaring temperatures. The camp was equipped with essential amenities such as cool drinking water, juice boxes, and shaded rest areas for heat-related ailments. The Institute’s dedicated team, which was led by Prof. Dr. Hasnain Sakrani and Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmed, consisted of faculty members including Dr. Resham Nadeem, Dr. Ayesha Anis, House officers; Yasharah Khalid, Zaid Ali, Nayl Zara, Abdullah Baloch, Yousuf Janjua, Maira Khan, Yusrah Rizwan, Alina Zehra, Laiba Hayat, and the Volunteers; Asadullah Naseem, Faizan Maroof, Shahbazi Khan, Muhammad Adil, Muhammad Hussain, Talal Rasheed, Abdul Samad, Muhammad Raahim, Waleed Ahmed, Saroop Raja, Waleedullah, Umer sabir, Bilal Khalid, Hammad and Jaint Kumar, who worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being of all attendees. The entire project reflected a commitment to community health and welfare. The Heat Relief Camp by Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine exemplifies proactive community engagement and the vital role of healthcare institutions in public health crises.
Faculty Development For Research Mentoring Programme
The inaugural mentoring session of the Faculty Development for Research Mentoring Program at Altamash Hospital, led by Dr. Shaur Sarfaraz, took place on May 2. 2024. This introductory session set the tone for the program, bringing together enthusiastic faculty members eager to enhance their mentoring skills. Dr. Sarfaraz, an experienced researcher and mentor, shared valuable insights on the importance of mentoring and the role of effective mentoring in fostering academic growth.The session concluded with a clear outline of expectations and a roadmap for future sessions, leaving participants inspired and motivated to embark on their research journeys.
3D Shade Matching
A workshop on 3D shade matching was conducted by prosthodontics department AIDM for final year BDS to enhance the cinical acumen. The workshop was facilitated by Prof.Dr.Naseer Ahmed and Dr Wajiha Zia (FCPS resident).
The co team members Dr Shuja Adil, Dr Hudal Adil, Dr Ayesha Anis and Dr Ibrahim Dars accompanied and support the succes of the event.

Convocation 2024
The Convocation 2024 of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine was a truly momentous occasion, marked by an air of accomplishment, nostalgia, and anticipation for the promising future that awaits its graduates. The ceremony unfolded at Pearl Continental, Karachi where five batches from 2019 till 2023 comprising a total of 355 graduates, were awarded their Bachelors of Dental Surgery degrees in an atmosphere of academic grandeur, with the majestic surroundings echoing the academic excellence synonymous with the institute. the This would not have been possible without the untiring efforts of Professor Dr. Muhammad Altamash (President Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine and Sitara-e-Imtiaz) , Dr. Shaheena Altamash, Professor Dr. Ambreen Afzal (Dean Academics Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine), Professor Dr. Naseer Ahmed, Professor Dr. Hasnain Sakrani, Dr. Shaur Sarfaraz, Miss Mani Bhadha, Dr. Resham Nadeem, Dr. Maria Ghani, Dr. Aleesha Faisal, Miss Sanam, Mr. Bilal and the rest of the team members of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine. Distinguished faculty members, proud parents, and esteemed guests gathered to witness the culmination of years of hard work and dedication by the graduating class.

Annual Research Day
The Third Annual Research Day was a celebration of innovation, discovery, and collaboration. This year’s event promised to be an intellectual feast, showcasing the diverse and groundbreaking researches conducted by our community of scholars and researchers. From cutting-edge scientific advancements to groundbreaking social science inquiries, the Third Annual Research Day was a platform for the exchange of ideas that would push the boundaries of knowledge.
Research is not merely a process; it is the lifeblood of progress, the driving force behind innovation, and the key to unraveling the mysteries that shape our world and who better to guide the path then a mentor, an extraordinary individual who could pave the way for the present and the future no better name then Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmed, the Head of Research Development and Review Cell of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine comes to mind when we think of such individuals, he had made the entire event possible with his relentless efforts and untiring efforts.
Dr. Maria Shakoor Abbas, Dr. Shaur Sarfaraz, Dr. Beenish Fatim, Dr. Resham Nadeem and the house officers of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine, who also handled the event exceptionally well under Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmed’s guidance and leadership. The Third Annual Research Day was an inter-university Competition and had exceptional participants from, Aga Khan University, Baqai Medical University, Bahria University Medical and Dental College, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, and Dow University of Health Sciences who had worked hard to dedicate themselves to the event. Dr. Fakeha Azhar Syed from Aga Khan University was the winner of the event and Dr. Batool Sajjad from Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine who was the runner up of the event had performed extraordinarily well in the Podium Presentation. Whereas, for the Poster Competition Dr. Baynita Khalid, Dr. Nabeeha Naqvi and Dr. Laveeza Kashif from Bahria University and Dental College, Health Sciences were the winners and the Dr. Maria Ghani from Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine was the runner up. This annual event was a testament towards commitment to advancing knowledge, pushing the boundaries of what we know, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
