Introduction

The Dental Assistant Training Program at Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to excellence in dental education and professional development. Established in 2001, AIDM has earned national and international recognition for its contributions to dentistry, and this program extends that legacy by preparing competent, skilled, and professional dental assistants who are essential members of the dental healthcare team.

This one-year curriculum is carefully designed to integrate high-quality theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on clinical experience, ensuring that graduates are fully prepared to support dentists, maintain patient safety, and contribute effectively to oral healthcare delivery. Emphasis is placed on infection control, chairside assistance, dental materials handling, radiographic procedures, and patient communication skills.

By fostering collaboration, professionalism, and critical thinking, the program equips students with the technical skills and ethical grounding needed to thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment. Participation in supervised clinical rotations, exposure to modern dental technology, and mentorship from experienced faculty ensure that graduates are prepared to meet national and international standards, making meaningful contributions to oral health services in Pakistan and beyond.
