AIDM's Emergency Clinics
This department is concerned with the etiology, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect the tooth pulp, root and periapical tissues.
This department deals with dental care of the infants, children, and adolescents.
The radiology department is equipped with the latest technology in the world i.e. Digital radiography. This digital imaging system uses non-film solid state detectors to radiographic exposure. These digital radiographic images are then displayed across various departments on high definition monitors. Minimal radiation exposure and optimization of digital radiographs are one of the major advantages of digital radiography.
The Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine boasts of the latest and state of the art imaging technologies in the current world of dentistry. Cone beam computed tomography (or CBCT) is a medical imaging technique consisting of X-ray computed tomography where the X-rays are divergent, forming a cone.
AIDM has been a premier pioneer facility for Dental Implants and education as well. CBCT has become increasingly important in treatment planning and diagnosis in implant dentistry as well. CBCT scanners are now finding many other uses in dentistry, such as in the fields of endodontics and orthodontics, as well, which are all one of the many specialty practices at AIDM.
With the use of CBCT at AIDM, visualization of a Dental Implant procedure or Orthodontic treatment has become even more convenient.
CBCT use in implantology
A dental cone beam scan offers invaluable information when it comes to the assessment and planning of surgical implants. The AAOMR also suggested cone-beam CT as the preferred method for presurgical assessment of dental implant sites.
CBCT use in orthodontics
As a 3D rendition, CBCT offers an undistorted view of the dentition that can be used to accurately visualize both erupted and non-erupted teeth, tooth root orientation and anomalous structures that conventional 2D radiography cannot.
The department focuses on the design, fabrication and insertion of the artificial replacements for teeth and other parts of the mouth. The services may include complete dentures, removable and fixed partial dentures, implant prosthodontics and cosmetic restorations.
Pain and Dysfunction:
The department provides treatment for pain because of functional problems of occlusion.
The most frequent congential dental deformity is cleft of the palate and lip is addressed professionally.
Traumatic injuries are taken care in the Emergency Clinics
Rehabilitation of acquired oral/facial defects are taken care by skilled dentist in the prosthodontics deparment.
This department encompasses the diagnoses and management of teeth and jaw related diseases as well as oro-facial abnormalities and defects. Students are also exposed to a variety of oral problems which come under the jurisdiction of oral medicine, from which they benefit proficiently.
The Department of Orthodontics, with its advanced radiography, provides patients with the best orthodontic treatment possible in an OPD setting. From preadolescent children to adults, treatment is provided to correct malocclusions, both skeletal and non skeletal and other developmental anomalies. Students are trained in basic orthodontic knowledge and are allowed to apply their knowledge on patients under the learned supervison of their senior and experienced professors.
Facilities include a modern orthodontic clinic and clinical laboratory; laboratory for photography, appliance construction and plaster work.
